In this 27 August 2020 issue (enclosed), we consider the Singapore cases of Shimizu Corporation v Stargood Construction Pte Ltd [2020] SGCA 37 and CBX and another v CBZ and others [2020] SGHC(I) 17 and explore issues of:

  1. when a claimant may submit a payment claim in a terminated contract; and
  2. when an arbitration award may be set aside on grounds of (a) excess of jurisdiction (b) breach of natural justice and (c) contravention of public policy.
