Corporate Law firm Fruytier Lawyers in Business announces its certification as a B Corporation (or B Corp), joining a growing group of companies reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit. Fruytier Lawyers in Business has been certified by B Lab, the non-profit behind the B Corp movement, as having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit.
The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. The certification process is rigorous, with applicants required to reach a benchmark score of at least 80 (out of 200) points while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency
‘We have already worked for a number of B Corp-certified companies such as Holie’s’, says spokesperson Myrddin van Westendorp. ‘And we are aware that we all need to step up our game to ensure a livable world for now and in the future. The B Corp certificate has long been a widely supported desire within our team. To achieve this, we had to review all our processes and assess whether we already meet the high standards in the areas of health, inclusivity, and the environment. Where necessary, we tightened up processes and policies to ensure that the B Corp philosophy remains firmly anchored in practice. Because words are nice, but of course it’s actions that count.
