Mariana has been a partner at the firm since 2024 and has been practicing law for over 25 years. Some members of the Law family had the opportunity to meet her in 2024 when the EAME Regional Meeting was held in Lisbon.
According to Paulo Cutileiro, JPAB’s primary contact, “having Mariana among us will be an asset and a reinforcement of our commitment to LAW. Mariana is an inspiring colleague who is always available to build relationships and explore opportunities.”
Why did you want to become a lawyer?
When I was a child, my hero was my grandfather. He was born in August 1900 and graduated with a law degree in 1923. He worked as a lawyer and notary his entire life. When I was accepted into law school, I wanted him to be the first person to know, but he was very apprehensive. He said that the life of a lawyer was very hard, with no set hours and a lot of responsibility, and that it wasn’t a suitable life for a woman.
What makes you laugh?
Relaxed moments with my family and close friends.
What book is on your nightstand?
Right now, I’m reading The Girl from Kiev, by Luca Crippa and Maurizio Onnis, a contemporary story based on real events.
Which social media platform do you use most often?
The social media platform I use the most is probably Instagram. I follow a lot of pages about restaurants and travel—two of my greatest pleasures.
