The LAW Network is bearing fruit even beyond client work: Just recently, a successful bridge was built between member firms in Germany and the U.S. for talent promotion.
Philipp Berger, a legal trainee and former research associate in the corporate law team at the member firm Seitz (Cologne, Germany), is currently completing his mandatory elective traineeship at Nutter, McClennen & Fish LLP in Boston in the litigation department as part of the German second state examination.
Philipp is the first legal trainee from Germany at the firm Nutter, a milestone that demonstrates the potential the LAW Network offers in the areas of promoting young talent and cross-border collaboration between member firms.
Philipp’s own interim assessment is very positive: “Completing my elective stage at a US law firm was the right decision. The team at Nutter has welcomed me warmly and fully integrated me into client work. This allows me to gain valuable experience for my future career.”
This collaboration was made possible by the joint commitment on both sides of the Atlantic: Constantin Axer and Stefan Glasmacher (both partners) from Seitz’s corporate law practice supported Philipp from the very beginning in his search for a suitable firm. Michael J. Leard (partner) from Nutter made the collaboration possible from the U.S. side.
This example illustrates how the LAW Network can create real added value for its member firms and their young talents, going far beyond mere client referrals.
