valfor advised Stadler Rail in connection with a Frame Agreement for the supply of 129 Bo’Bo’ multisystem locomotives to SBB Cargo
Stadler Rail (SIX: SRAIL), one of the world’s ten largest rail vehicle manufacturers based in Switzerland, with a workforce of around 14,500 in various production and engineering locations, signed a Frame Agreement with Swiss freight operator SBB Cargo to supply 129 Bo’Bo’ electric multisystem (25 kVAC/ 15 kVAC / 3 kV DC) locomotives for continental Europe. The new Bo’Bo’ locomotives meet the technical specification for interoperability (TSI) and are equipped with various country packages. SBB Cargo will replace its in-age-coming locomotives Re420. The agreement provides for an initial delivery of 36 units and includes an option for 93 additional locomotives.
