Sebastian Benz joins Seitz with tax law team from Linklaters

Prof. Dr. Sebastian Benz, one of the most renowned lawyers in German and international tax law, joins Seitz as a partner. Following the transfer of several employment law teams, the expansion of the corporate law department and the opening of five offices, Seitz is continuing its long-standing success story and further expanding its excellent market position as a commercial law firm.
Sebastian Benz, together with associates Ines Marquardt and Dr. Haakon Richter will join forces with long-standing partners Nils Kröber, Dr. Julian Peters and Christoph Frey on January 1, 2025 further strengthening the tax law team of around 20 people. Benz is a proven expert in group tax law and in providing tax advice on corporate acquisitions and restructurings, often with an international dimension.
Sebastian Benz has been a partner at Linklaters since 2001 and was head of the German tax practice for over seven years. He is responsible for the Knowledge & Learning division of Linklaters Europe and also teaches corporate tax law and international tax law as an honorary professor at the University of Münster. Benz heads the state commission for budget, taxes and finance of the Economic Council of the CDU in North Rhine-Westphalia and is also a member of various associations and working groups for tax law and tax advice. For years, JUVE Steuermarkt has described Sebastian Benz as a “leading name” in group tax law and transaction tax law. Chambers Europe lists him as a “Ranked Individual” in Germany.
